FAQs that Aren’t
Thursday, May 26th, 2005I’ve been guilty of this myself, but it seems to me that the “Frequently Asked Question” label is more and more often being applied to questions that really ought to be labeled “Things Our Marketing Department Wants You To Know.”
The question that spurred this post is in Bloglines’ FAQ list: “How Does Bloglines Cure Information Overload?” People don’t ask questions with buzzwords in them. What the question really should be is, “How does Bloglines make my life easier?”
I’m going to add FAQs that Aren’t to this list every once in a while, feel free to add your own in the comments.

This seems to be an example of a company trying to support the buzz around a newly-coined phrase. This feels odd since the phrase doesn’t seem to occur anywhere on their site (except the FAQs).
